Open vSwitch (OVS) is the open source virtual switch that has wide adoption for both virtual and physical Ethernet switching. OpenDaylight controls and manages OVS endpoints with OpenFlow and OVSDB. OpenDaylight manages the control plane of OVS using OpenFlow protocol. OVS plays an important part in OpenStack implementations for virtual and physical Ethernet switching. This hands on tutorial will help developers understand the OVSDB implementation in OpenDaylight and how OpenDaylight manages the OVSDB implementations and use cases such as OpenStack.
