ODL provides the key building blocks for SDN Controller and some key applications. However the requirements, the users, the application categories, the API style and desired semantics, the way to offer APIs that can evolve as experience and real deployment feedback is available are vague. The panel will discuss all of the above in light of the lessons learned from the first Applications, comparison to proprietary environments and first efforts to standardize the API.
